Speedy's Plumbing plans to expand into aerobic septic services. We do not currently install or maintain aerobic systems; those services will be offered only after the required Texas licensing and authorization are in place. Here's what Hill Country homeowners should know in the meantime.
An aerobic treatment unit (ATU) uses an air pump to add oxygen to wastewater, so oxygen-loving bacteria can break waste down more completely than in a conventional septic tank. The treated water is typically disinfected with chlorine and then dispersed through spray heads or drip lines. Aerobic systems are common in the Hill Country, where shallow soil and rock can rule out a traditional drain field.
Aerobic systems that use chlorine disinfection need calcium hypochlorite tablets certified for wastewater treatment. Never use swimming pool tablets in your septic chlorinator: TCEQ warns they are made from a different chemical and are not approved for wastewater disinfection.
If your aerobic system needs service now, contact the licensed maintenance provider listed on your maintenance contract. For slow drains, clogs, and other plumbing problems inside your home, call Ruben at (210) 425-1360. For warning signs every septic owner should know, see our Septic Guide.
Ruben is a Texas licensed master plumber with 40 years of experience serving Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, and the surrounding Hill Country. We'll announce aerobic septic services on this page once the required licensing and authorization are complete. Until then, we're here for your plumbing needs at (210) 425-1360.
